Sea Stacks Bicheno is the result of a vision more than 20 years in the making. After acquiring Silver Sands Resort in 2002, the ambition was clear: to create something special that would both celebrate and enhance the remarkable setting of Bicheno’s east coast.
The first prototypes, Sea Stacks Denison, were completed in 2018. They serve as both an architectural precursor and a standalone experience for guests, designed to encourage seclusion, self-reflection, and deep immersion in the surrounding natural environment.
This award-winning property has become a highly sought-after destination for guests and travellers. Visitors consistently highlight the meticulous attention to detail and the distinctive finishes and presentation that set the experience apart from conventional accommodation. The project’s thoughtful design and strong sense of place have not only resonated with guests but have also earned significant recognition and respect within the architecture and tourism industries.
By exploring privacy, spatial intimacy, and harmony with the landscape, the Denison prototypes informed the design principles, guest experience and architectural language of the Sea Stacks Bicheno development.

The buildings are timber-clad and timber-lined with responsibly repurposed timber. Throughout the property, materials such as granite tiles and stone baths and sinks have been selected for their durability and timeless appeal.
